VocaNum is designed so that core vocabulary learning can be used without creating a VocaNum account. We limit collection to information reasonably needed to operate, secure, understand, and improve VocaNum and its services.

Information VocaNum may process

Depending on the feature you use, VocaNum may process the following categories of information:

  • Learning and preference data, such as practice history, answers, progress, confidence, settings, goals, and other in-app choices.
  • Product and usage information, such as feature interactions, session activity, event timestamps, app version, operating-system version, general device information, and locale.
  • Random or technical identifiers used to associate events with an installation or session and to maintain service integrity.
  • Purchase and entitlement information made available through Apple services, such as product identifiers, subscription or purchase status, restore results, and related transaction state. VocaNum does not receive your full payment-card or banking credentials.
  • Website usage information, including requested pages, referral domain, permitted campaign parameters, and selected interaction events. Hosting and security infrastructure may also process ordinary request information such as IP address, browser details, and timestamps.
  • Information you choose to provide when contacting VocaNum for support or otherwise communicating with us.

Local data and optional iCloud sync

A substantial portion of VocaNum learning data is stored on your device so the app can provide progress, personalization, and offline functionality. Where VocaNum offers optional iCloud synchronization, supported data may be processed through Apple’s iCloud and CloudKit services using the iCloud account configured on your device. Apple’s applicable terms and privacy practices govern those Apple services.

Availability, scope, and behavior of synchronization may change as VocaNum evolves. Local and synchronized data controls available in the app should be reviewed before resetting, deleting, restoring, or replacing learning data.

How information is used

VocaNum may use information for purposes including:

  • Providing, maintaining, personalizing, and improving VocaNum.
  • Calculating learning progress and delivering app features.
  • Understanding feature usage and product performance.
  • Processing and recognizing purchases and entitlements.
  • Detecting errors, abuse, fraud, security incidents, or misuse.
  • Responding to support requests and communications.
  • Complying with legal obligations and protecting VocaNum’s rights.

Analytics, advertising, and tracking

VocaNum may use first-party analytics to understand use of the app and website. Analytics may be reviewed at an aggregate, installation, session, or event level where reasonably necessary for product, reliability, security, and business analysis.

VocaNum does not sell personal information and does not use VocaNum learning activity to build cross-app advertising profiles. VocaNum does not currently display third-party behavioral advertising in the app. If these practices materially change, this policy and relevant platform disclosures may be updated.

Sharing and service providers

VocaNum may disclose information to infrastructure, hosting, platform, analytics, security, support, or other service providers where reasonably necessary to operate VocaNum. Information may also be disclosed when required by law, legal process, or a valid governmental request, or when reasonably necessary to protect users, VocaNum, or others from fraud, abuse, security threats, or unlawful conduct.

Apple separately processes information in connection with the App Store, StoreKit, iCloud, and other Apple services under Apple’s own terms and privacy policies.

Retention and deletion

VocaNum retains information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including operation, analytics, security, dispute resolution, enforcement, and legal compliance. Retention periods may vary by category and context. Information may be aggregated, de-identified, or otherwise retained where permitted by law.

Local learning-data controls may be available within the app. Deleting local data does not necessarily delete information already transmitted to a service, retained in backups, processed by Apple, or required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or recordkeeping purposes. Where applicable, requests concerning information held by VocaNum can be submitted through VocaNum Support.

Security

VocaNum uses reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information. No storage, transmission, or security method can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and VocaNum does not warrant absolute security.

Children

VocaNum is not intended to knowingly solicit sensitive personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe information has been provided to VocaNum in a manner that requires action under applicable law, contact VocaNum Support.

International use

VocaNum and its service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you are located. Where required, VocaNum applies safeguards appropriate to the relevant processing and applicable law.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, applicable law may provide rights over certain information, including rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or other controls. These rights may be subject to exceptions, verification requirements, technical limitations, and lawful retention obligations.

Changes to this policy

VocaNum may revise this policy from time to time to reflect changes to the product, services, technology, business practices, or legal requirements. The current version will be published on this page. Continued use after an update is subject to the revised policy to the extent permitted by applicable law.
